Who I am

SEOJack is a one-person web studio run by Jack Price.

Using this website

This site tells you what I do and roughly what it costs. Build prices here are starting prices: your build price is the one on your written quote, and if this site and your quote ever disagree, the quote wins.

The preview

The preview is free, and it creates no obligation for either of us.

Quotes and the agreement

• A contract starts only when you accept a written quote (by email is fine). The quote lists the pages and features. Anything else is quoted first and starts only with your written OK.
• Before launch, you get two rounds of changes.
• The build is priced on the quote. Builds start from £1,250, or £2,500 for clubs and venues. Pay at launch, or in up to 12 monthly payments with no interest and no fee, all within 12 months of accepting the quote.
• Extra work is £45 an hour, or a fixed price I quote first.
• No VAT added.
• US clients are quoted in dollars, at US rates.

Monthly care

Care starts at launch. It’s £39 a month for a business, or £99 a month for a club or venue. It covers:

• Hosting, security updates, backups and monitoring
• Up to 30 minutes of changes a month (unused time doesn’t roll over)
• A reply within one working day
• WhatsApp in working hours

For clubs and venues it also covers the club office tools your staff use, with up to 2 hours of changes a month instead of 30 minutes.

It doesn’t cover:

• New pages, features or a redesign. I quote them first, and nothing starts without your OK.
• Changes beyond your monthly time: £45 an hour, or a fixed quote.
• Your domain renewal and email accounts. They’re in your name, and you pay for them directly.
• Other paid services the site uses, such as booking or payment apps.
• Writing a lot of new content, photography or advertising.

Ending care

Either of us can end care with one month’s written notice. If you end care while you’re still paying for the build monthly, the rest of the build price is due then. Once it’s paid, the site is yours to host elsewhere, and I hand over the code and logins.

Who owns what

Copyright in the work I make for you passes to you on final payment. Shared tools I use for several clients (such as the club office tools and booking modules) and open-source parts stay with their owners, and you get a permanent licence to use them on your site. The domain is registered in your name, and you hold the admin logins.

Your customers’ data

Where your site collects personal data (for example, enquiries), I process it only on your instructions, keep it confidential and secure, use only the providers named in your agreement, tell you without delay about any breach, help with people’s data requests, and delete or return it when we stop working together.

I tell you before I add or change a provider. They’re bound by the same duties, and some are in the US under their transfer safeguards. I’ll help with security questions and give you what you need to check all this.

Liability

My total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited. If you’re a consumer, this cap never stops you getting back what you paid me.

If you’re a consumer

If you’re buying for yourself rather than for a business, you can cancel within 14 days of the day you accept my quote, without giving a reason. To cancel, email me at contact@seojack.net or write to 1321 Upland Dr, Houston, TX 77043, USA. You can use the form below, but you don’t have to.

I don’t start work in those 14 days unless you ask me to in writing. If you ask and then cancel, you pay a fair share of the price for the work done before you told me. If you ask me to finish within the 14 days and agree that you then lose the right to cancel, you can’t cancel once it’s finished. If I owe you a refund, I pay it within 14 days.

Complaints

If something isn’t right, tell me first. I’ll reply within one working day and do my best to put it right.

Which law applies

the law of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live.
